The Institute of Chemical Physics for Materials, Environment and Energy (INQUIMAE) is a research centre jointly funded by the School of Physical and Natural Science (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and the National Research Council (CONICET). INQUIMAE is a non-profit academic institution having a substantial experimental infrastructure, the topics being studied by its staff members cover aspects of inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry related to materials, environment and energy. It has a staff of thirty three scientists who carry out basic research, teaching activities (undergraduate as well as graduate courses), and also act as consultants to other institutions and to industry. It has five professionals that support the latter activities. There are more than 60 graduate students at the institute who mainly are doing research for their Ph.D. thesis.
